Better days

from 50-90 2021 by The Fishermen & the Priestess

backstage exclusive

about

(burr) as i understand it, this is a tape that got started during FAWM but never finished! @pfoo & @standup recorded drums and guitar (respectively) on tracks 1 & 2 after which @elesimo wrote and recorded vocals sooner or later the tape made it to me during 5090 and i forgot about it until tonight! i quickly wrote a bass part, transferred tracks to the computer for some mixing and voilà! just under the wire for 5090...

lyrics

i woke up this morning
fearing another day
the fog was thick as mud
and it was here to stay
baby why is it so hard for me to begin?
maybe it’s the price i pay
maybe it’s a sin

all i know is that my life escapes
even though i have everything that it takes
waiting for some better days
but they never come

as the day goes by i think of what to say
i want to call the ones i love
but i just fade away
baby will you stay here with me?
maybe i’ll be the best that i can be

all i know is that my life escapes
even though i have everything that it takes
waiting for some better days
but they never come

the moon is high and lonely
it’s lost upon its way
i barely close my eyes
and it turns into day
baby help me wake up from this dream
maybe there’s more to life than it seems

all i know is that my life escapes
even though i have everything that it takes
waiting for some better days
but they never come
